Central Florida Printmakers
Central Florida Printmakers is a community of professional artists, students, and printmaking enthusiasts dedicated to promoting and educating the public about fine art printmaking.
Founded in 2015 by award-winning artist and retired Seminole State College Professor Larry Vienneau, the organization represents members across seven Central Florida counties and became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2024.
Members participate in exhibitions, workshops, demonstrations, and collaborative events while sharing a passion for the art and craft of printmaking.
Artists represented: Bronwyn Merritt, David Hunter, Fontaine Rodgers, Jennifer Harper, Katy Farmer, MegCarroll, Mindy Lighthipe and Rhonda Peyton.
Mount Dora Center for the Arts is located at 847 E 5th Ave. Mount Dora, FL. The center is volunteer run and open Tues-Fri 11am-5pm/ Sat & Sun 12-3pm.

The Artists
Ysabel Flores
Ysabel Flores is a multidisciplinary artist working in painting, printmaking, and ceramics. Educated at Seminole State College and Stetson University, she draws inspiration from culture, nature, everyday objects, and collaboration with other artists.
Active in her community, Ysabel teaches art to children, exhibits her work in local galleries, and participates in public art projects while continually exploring new ideas and creative techniques.
Fontaine Rodgers
Fontaine Rodgers is an artist and educator whose work is inspired by nature. She holds a BFA, cum laude, from the Maryland Institute College of Art, where she studied drawing and printmaking. Now based in Ocala, Florida, she teaches drawing, art fundamentals, printmaking, and Sumi-e painting through classes and workshops.
Her handmade wood and linoleum block prints often incorporate hand-colored watercolor, colored pencil, or additional layers of block-printed color, making each piece unique. Her work is held in private and municipal collections and has been exhibited throughout Florida and beyond.
Rhonda Peyton
As a printmaker, I explore a variety of etching techniques and experimental approaches to mark-making and color. My work often incorporates à la poupée, applying multiple colors directly to the plate, and pochoir, using stencils to add color to the finished print. Unexpected color choices help convey emotion and create outcomes that are both expressive and unpredictable.
My work centers on memory—how people, places, conversations, and unexpected events shape our lives. By combining fragments of experiences, I reimagine memories and unfinished stories into images that suggest new beginnings. Each piece invites the viewer to discover their own narrative, with multiple possibilities that ultimately lead toward a positive or uplifting experience.
Mindy Lighthipe
Artist Mindy Lighthipe draws inspiration from the natural world, carefully studying plants, landscapes, and wildlife through sketches, color notes, and photography. Known for her bold use of color and detailed compositions, she works in hand-pulled printmaking, watercolor, gouache, colored pencil, and Pan Pastels, often combining traditional techniques to create her distinctive style.
Mindy holds a BFA in Studio Arts and an MA in Art Education from Kean University and is certified in Botanical Illustration by the New York Botanical Garden. Her work has been exhibited since 1998, including a Silver Medal from the Royal Horticultural Society in London and a solo exhibition at the Florida Museum of Natural History. She currently teaches Scientific Illustration at the University of Florida and offers online instruction and art and photography travel excursions.
Megan Carroll
Megan Carroll is a founding member of the Seminole County Printmakers. She studied art and printmaking under Larry Vienneau at Seminole State College. Her work is magical, mystical, and peculiar with recurring themes of birds, flowers and symbols that can be found hand-printed on fabric as well as paper.
Her bags can be purchased at several art vending machines in the Orlando area.
Katy Farmer
Katy Farmer is a mixed-media artist whose work blends figurative and abstract elements using acrylic, watercolor, ink, pencil, and printmaking. Growing up on a houseboat on Florida’s Weeki Wachee River continues to inspire much of her work.
Katy holds a BFA from Ringling College of Art and Design and an MA in Art Education from UCF. She spent more than 20 years teaching art and previously worked as an illustrator and graphic designer for clients including Disney World, SeaWorld, and Coors. Her work has been exhibited throughout Central Florida, including at the Orlando Museum of Art and Seminole State College.
Jennifer Harper
Jennifer Harper draws inspiration from nature, family, words, and simple shapes, creating prints that range from realistic to abstract. Her process embraces experimentation and the unexpected, making each print an exploration of new ideas and techniques.
In 2012, Jennifer founded the Open Press Group in Eustis, Florida, inviting area artists to share her printmaking studio and fostering a creative community where artists can work, connect, and inspire one another.
David Hunter
David Hunter is a Central Florida master printmaker and art educator known for his detailed etchings inspired by Florida’s natural environment. Originally trained in zoology, he discovered a passion for line art while illustrating his master’s thesis and became a full-time artist in 1978. He has since created more than 80,000 etchings and continues to teach workshops throughout the Southeast.
David was the first president of the Florida Printmakers Society and, in 1987, was commissioned to create a cover etching for The Old Farmer’s Almanac. His award-winning work has been exhibited throughout the country, earning recognition for his distinctive imagery and mastery of traditional etching.
Bronwyn Merritt
Bronwyn Merritt is a multimedia artist with studios in Carrboro, North Carolina, and Orlando, Florida. She earned an MFA in printmaking from UNC-G and has continued her studies at Penland School of Crafts, exploring papermaking, book arts, and other media.
Originally known for her narrative linocuts, Bronwyn also works in drawing, painting, ceramics, and book arts. Her work is held in private collections worldwide and in the collections of the American University Museum and Weatherspoon Museum.
