Wabi Sabi Inspired Mixed Media, Create Beautiful Gel Prints and Collage

Oct 5 from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm The Japanese philosophy of Wabi-Sabi reminds us that beauty is often found in the imperfect, the weathered, and the quietly incomplete. In this workshop, we will slow down and explore a more contemplative approach to creating art. Using acrylic paint, a brayer, and a gel plate, you’ll learn simple printing techniques that allow subtle layers, worn surfaces, and rustic textures to emerge naturally. Through this purposeful practice, you’ll explore how restraint, simplicity, and thoughtful mark-making can create depth and meaning. The papers you print will then become the building blocks for your simple, meaningful collage that reflects the quiet beauty and philosophy of Wabi-Wabi. Instructor Korinne Carpino $120 MDCA members $150 MDCA non-members

We will cover creating backgrounds, masking and silhouette techniques, using ghost prints to capture delicate secondary impressions. You will be able to use your botanical prints for art cards, collage elements or standalone pieces with a few finishing details. Instructor Korinne Carpino $70 MDCA members $100 MDCA non-members
