Art Camp for kids
MDCA offers a 1 week SPRING Camp, a 9 week SUMMER Camp series, and two, 2 day WINTER Camp sessions. Classes are age integrated 6-12 years old and the instructor tailors the projects to adapt to each student’s level of art experience.

Drawing
How do you Begin to Draw-ANYTHING?
Saturdays April 25, May 2, 9, 16 from 9:30am - 12pm. Take one class or take them all and improve your skills! BEYOND STICK FIGURES - With the basic material of pencil, charcoal, and paper you will learn how to see and capture the 'that object / scene in front of you. The class time will focus on mastering basic line work, simple shapes (circles, squares, triangles), and light, loose sketching to build hand-eye coordination and confidence. Start by drawing from reference, keeping lines light for easy corrections, and practicing daily to develop control and observation skills rather than immediate perfection. Intro to Color Pencil Painting
Saturday May 23 10am- 12pm
This class will discuss the pros and cons of painting with color pencils and introduce students to the materials, tools, and techniques that distinguish it from other media. We will also engage in several exercises to illustrate techniques like blending, layering, and burnishing before completing one or two simple still life paintings. Dragonfly Watercolor Workshop

Ready to get creative? We're hosting a fun, beginner-friendly painting class! I will guide you through the process of painting a delicate dragonfly on 8x10 watercolor paper. We provide everything you need, so just bring yourself and your creativity!

Unconventional effects in watercolor
4 Class Series. Mon May 4th, Mon May 11, Thurs May 14, and Mon May 18 all classes 1pm to 3:30pm
Explore the "magic" of watercolor texture in this all-levels class. We'll dive into the unpredictable beauty of wet-on wet painting and master specialized techniques using masking fluid for a field of flowers, and saran wrap to create rugged rock scenes. The Pastel medium is color luscious and soft to the touch. When applied to a support it is powerfully responsive under the guidance of the beginner to advanced artist’s hand. This class will explore the various techniques and processes with a view to completing a finished work.

From the outset, Oil painting is to encounter a fluid brilliant medium of color applied to a canvas. Come and explore this century old means of expressing yourself. From Ballet to Heels to Tap...you're never too old to learn new or improve your dance skills. These classes are for both men and women and all skill levels are invited to attend. Classes are held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Location: Mount Dora Center for the Arts. 138 E. 5th Ave Mt. Dora.

This is an open studio area with no instruction. Tables for crafting and easels are available for use. Space is shared with other artists. Bring your own materials.
